Dear Pilots,
on behalf of the VACC-SAG Berlin FIR I would like to invite you to our Berlin
24h-Event. This event will start on Saturday, 3. November 12:00 UTC and will end on Sunday, 12:00 UCT. That means: 24 hours of full staffing in Berlin, the capital of Germany. The special thing about this event: all controllers will be located in a room, controlling the traffic shoulder to shoulder during the total 24 hours. So we will provide real-live service with flight strips, coordinators, D-sides, 2 hour shifts and so on...
Since Berlin has three airports, named:
Berlin Tegel
Berlin Schönefeld
Berlin Tempelhof
you have plenty of choices to enjoy 24 hours of full service, starting from Delivery to Center (here called 'Bremen Radar' - don't be confused; this is due to the real German airspace structure).
We would like to welcome you on Saturday or on Sunday, either as long-hauler, short hopper, IFR pro or VFR rookie. Please choose Berlin either as your departure or arrival airport. Of course you can also do short VFR rides across Berlin, traveling from one airport to another, have an IFR training flight within Berlin or choose to fly into Berlin area from any other airport. Since the weather in Germany might be a little bit ugly in November, you may also expect real IFR operations, stormy landings, choppy rides and some challenges on the SIDs.
Most likely, the adjacent areas will be staffed as well during European evening between 17:00 UTC and 22:00 UTC. This will give you the opportunity for some short hops of about one hour flight time.
You will find all information about this event on our event homepage:
http://berlin24.tr-media.org/The website contains everything you need to participate on this event:
Scenery recommendations (also freeware!!)
charts
flightplans
operation procedures

live booking statistics
Come and have a look - and visit us during our long night in Berlin!
See you on the first weekend in November!
